TRANSFER STATION

GLTC Transfer Station

The GLTC Transfer Station is located at 800 Kemper Street, adjacent to the Kemper Street Amtrak Station. The new facility provides easy access to all patrons from rail to pedestrians to bicyclists from the Kemper Station Trail.

About the Station

The new station provides conditioned indoor waiting as well as outdoor waiting for all GLTC bus routes and connections. The new station includes customer service, automated ticketing, vending and kiosks maps for easy route location. In addition to passenger amenities, a second floor training and conference room will be available for GLTC public meetings, training and special programs for passengers and the community in the near future.

The architecture of the facility compliments the City and surrounding area in an industrial style brick warehouse manner. Passengers are able to enjoy large clear window views to the transit platform and in comfortable weather, two roll up doors can be opened to create and outdoor space inside.

The facility is certified LEED Platinum, one of only a few transit facilities on the east coast holding this prestigious award. It features a vegetative roof to help cool parts of the first floor, plus Photovoltaic (solar) panels that generate electricity used by the facility.
