Title of Position:         Human Resource Manager (Full-Time)

Announcement:           The Greater Lynchburg Transit Company (Central Virginia Transit Management Company, Inc.) located in Lynchburg, Virginia is seeking qualified applicants for the open position of Human Resources Manager. 

General Description:   The Human Resources Manager is responsible for maintaining and enhancing GLTC’s human resources by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs and practices.  This position will maintain all aspects of Human Resources to include recruiting, selecting and orienting new employees, maintain employee records, administer benefit programs by informing employees of benefits, direct processing of benefit claims and conduct educational programs of benefit programs.  This position is responsible for ensuring legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable federal and state human resource requirements.  They will oversee administer and ensure compliance with the organization Title VI, DOT Drug and Alcohol, and EEO Programs.  They will administer responses to Union Grievances and ensure company compliance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement with the labor union as well as assisting with negotiation of Labor contract.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management or Related field with Five (5) Years of Human Resource Experience.
  • Strong Knowledge of Human Resources Laws and Regulations
  • Strong Written/Verbal Communication Skills.
  • Ability to Deal Tactfully and Confidently with Internal and External Customers.
  • Strong Knowledge of Federal and State Employment Laws and Regulations.
  • Strong Computer Skills – Emphasis in Excel.
  • Professional Human Resources Certifications: SPHR,PHR, SHRM Strongly Preferred.
  • Experience with a Labor Union Preferred.

Starting Salary:        $47,500 – $52,000 (Dependent upon qualifications)

Title of Position:          Marketing Intern (Part-Time approximately 20 hours per week)

Announcement:           The Greater Lynchburg Transit Company (Central Virginia Transit Management Company, Inc.) located in Lynchburg, VA is seeking qualified applicants for the open position of Marketing Intern.

The Internship Program provides an opportunity for students in college, or recent graduates, to gain exposure and experience in professional work in public transit. The student gains experience in fixed route transit operations, marketing, planning, monitoring, analyzing, and implementation.

This position is funded through grant funds to begin on July 1, 2018 and end June 30, 2019.  

General Description:   The Marketing Intern is responsible for assisting the Customer Experience/ Marketing Manager with special projects and visual graphics/materials and documents which inform the public of GLTC’s services and programs. A wide variety of work is included, ranging from graphic design to printed marketing materials, social media management, branding, and image identity.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to assist in the execution of a clearly-defined marketing and social media strategy Attention to detail and strong data entry skills.
  • Heavy presence in alignment with the transit system’s business and marketing plan and direction General Math Skills.
  • Ability to evaluate, plan, and organize marketing and social media channels.
  • Ability to ensure marketing consistency.
  • Ability to strengthen communication and interaction with the customers and the community.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Ability to make independent decisions within scope of responsibility.
  • Excellent customer service skills are a must.
  • Thorough working knowledge of computers, hardware and software programs.

Benefits:                      This is a paid part-time intern position.

Starting Salary:           $ 18.00/hour
